Russia deliberately attacks the Azerbaijani embassy in Kiev, believes the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. The official made the statement for the Ukrainska Pravda publication, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
Aliyev claimed that Russian forces have attacked Azerbaijani diplomatic targets in Ukraine three times. According to him, the diplomacy from Baku sent the addresses of all its representations to Moscow after the first incident, but the situation repeated itself.
“After the first attack, we could have assumed it was an accident and we sent all the coordinates of the Azerbaijani diplomatic representations to our Russian colleagues, including the consular section, cultural centers, and other targets. Despite this, there were two more attacks. Therefore, it was a deliberate attack on the diplomatic representation of Azerbaijan,” Aliyev stated.
The Azerbaijani president also says that Moscow received a diplomatic note, following the incidents, with the Russian ambassador being summoned.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected the accusations, reports ziua.md. The statement of the leader from Baku was qualified as “not conforming to reality.” Moscow assured that it meticulously checks the location of targets when planning strikes, then justified that the Ukrainian defense systems would not function correctly.
The Azerbaijani embassy in Ukraine suffered three times, during massive Russian attacks on the civilian infrastructure in Kiev, in the months of July, August, and November 2025.
