The National Police of Ukraine has charged over 4600 Russian soldiers who have committed war crimes. The targeted individuals have committed murders, torture, and have exhibited inhuman treatment towards the civilian population.

“The result of the police investigators’ activity to date is as follows: over 4600 people have received suspicion notices for offenses committed in the conditions of the armed conflict. Over 2500 criminal cases are already being examined in court,” declared for Agerpres the head of the War Crimes Investigation Department of the Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine, Dmitro Shevciuk.

The official claims that among the soldiers charged is also a general from the Russian Federation, who participated in the occupation and looting of the Chernobyl Power Plant. Also, it is about a Russian commander responsible for the operation in Bucea and the atrocities committed in this locality.

The National Police of Ukraine has documented, from the beginning of the war to the present, over 198,000 criminal cases related to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
