Mojtaba Khamenei, the second son of the late supreme Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, enjoys excellent health and is currently dealing with important issues of the country, reported the semi-official news agency Mehr on Tuesday.

Mehr reports that it has received reliable information confirming that Mojtaba is alive, in good health, and currently dealing with issues related to the slain members of his family and examining important issues facing the country, writes Agerpres, quoting Xinhua.

Mojtaba Khamenei is one of the candidates for the leadership of Iran.

We remind you that on Saturday morning, following joint US and Israeli air strikes on Tehran and other Iranian cities, Ali Khamenei was killed, along with other members of his family, high-ranking military commanders, and civilians.

Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, the wife of the supreme leader of Iran, later died as a result of her injuries, according to wionews.com.

    Ali Khamenei’s Children

Despite the fact that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was one of the most influential figures in the Middle East, his family largely lived in the shadows. His six children – Mostafa, Mojtaba, Masoud, Meysam, Boshra, and Hoda – rarely appeared in public, and information about them was hard to come by.

Considered by many as the unofficial heir of his father, Mojtaba was the only one who truly caught the analysts’ attention. His relations with the Revolutionary Guards and the conservative clergy made him a key figure in the system.
