The new supreme leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, declared in his first message to the nation that the country intends to continue its confrontation with the United States and maintain the blockade on the Strait of Hormuz.
The text of the speech, broadcast by the Iranian agency Tasnim News Agency, was read on state television, but Khamenei did not personally appear in the images.
The central theme of the message was the military operation launched by the United States of America and Israel against Iran. Khamenei thanked the Iranian military for the “devastating blows” dealt to the enemy and emphasized that Tehran will continue to use the “lever of blocking the Strait of Hormuz”.
He also announced the preparation of “new fronts”, in areas where, according to his statements, “the enemy has very little experience”, which would make it “extremely vulnerable”.
At the same time, the Iranian leader expressed his gratitude to Tehran’s regional allies, including the Houthi Movement in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon and the “resistance” groups in Iraq, for their support.
