Blogger Z Ilia Remeslo, who called Vladimir Putin an illegitimate president and demanded his prosecution as a war criminal, was admitted to a psychiatric hospital in Saint Petersburg. About this reported another pro-war blogger, Alexander Kartavik, quoted by Moscow Times. Remeslo was admitted to City Psychiatric Hospital No. 3 on the evening of March 19, according to sources “directly from the hospital”. According to the Baza website, the blogger, who criticized Putin, is being treated in Ward 16, specializing in treating men with new symptoms of psychotic disorder.

The channel notes that the ward hosts patients with delusions, thought disorders, and incoherent speech. Fontanka also confirms Remeslo’s hospitalization. The clinic’s information office told the publication’s correspondent that packages could be delivered to the patient, who bears the same name as the blogger, on Saturdays and Wednesdays. Journalist Alexander Pliușev, who interviewed Remeslo on March 18 , reported that he did not respond to messages sent Thursday morning “and didn’t even read them” and also ignored WhatsApp calls. Meanwhile, in the interview with Pliușev, Remeslo stated, among other things, that he has no intention of leaving Russia.

Previously, on the evening of March 17 and the morning of March 18, Remeslo, who had previously supported the Russian government and actively opposed the opposition, published a series of posts on his Telegram channel where he harshly criticized the Kremlin and Putin personally, causing a wave of bewilderment and outrage among Z society. The head of the Chechen special forces, Apti Alaudinov, wrote that Remeslo began to criticize the government “in one of the most difficult moments for the country”, which, he said, “can only cause a slight disgust” because of the “chase for subscribers and false fame”.

In his posts, blogger Z listed six key reasons for his dissatisfaction with the president: the war with Ukraine, which he called “an absolute impasse” and which causes enormous damage to the economy; internet and media censorship; Putin’s unlimited term in power; lack of respect for citizens; and a “crazy, morbidly bordering, lust for luxury”.
