One of Ukraine’s largest drone manufacturers, General Cherry, has signed an agreement to produce unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in the United States, the company announced in a statement released on Monday, March 30.
FPV (first-person view) drone and interceptor manufacturer General Cherry has reached an agreement with American defense industry company Wilcox Industries to build the latter’s drones in the former’s factories in New Hampshire, writes Kyiv Independent.
“We are delighted to have this unique opportunity to build together the production, which will manufacture the latest means of defense and attack”, declared the co-founder General Cherry, Yaroslav Hrișin. “First and foremost, we focus on interceptor drones, as our main product.”
Founded in September 2023, General Cherry is a relevant example of the rapid growth of a new generation of Ukrainian companies in the military technology sector, emerged after the large-scale Russian invasion in February 2022.
A representative of the company told Kyiv Independent that the production launch date will depend on the ongoing negotiations with the Ukrainian government.
