According to the cited source, Russian soldiers tried to exploit unfavorable weather conditions and reduced visibility to penetrate through the underground infrastructure and reach behind the Ukrainian defensive positions. However, the attempt was detected, and the group was reportedly annihilated.
The Ukrainian Brigade claims that this is not the first attempt of this kind in the region, Russian forces having used similar routes in the past, despite the losses suffered.
