The pro-war blogger and known for his repeated denunciations, Ilia Remeslo, gave an interview after being discharged from a psychiatric clinic, in which he once again criticized the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.

“The main cause of all the problems in our country is not Serghei Kirienko, nor the Max app, nor the presidential administration, but the man at the top, who controls everything. This is Vladimir Putin,” declared Remeslo.

According to him, this is known by “everyone”, including war correspondents and opinion leaders, but “almost everyone is afraid to say that this man is responsible and that, under his leadership, the country is heading into a profound decline.”

The interview was conducted by Ksenia Sobchak.

On March 18, the blogger named Putin an illegitimate president, accused him of usurping power, and demanded his trial for war crimes. Subsequently, he was admitted to a psychiatric hospital in Saint Petersburg.

In the interview, Remeslo said that he does not regret the statements made and intends to continue in the same way, proclaiming himself the “leader of the Russian opposition”. “We must fight Putinism as a phenomenon, not just a single person. It doesn’t matter what he says or how he says it, if the system remains,” he stated.

He also predicted a “silent palace coup,” which, in his opinion, could be led by Prime Minister Mihail Mishustin.

Remeslo also said that he began to change his opinion about Putin after the revolt of the Wagner group founder, Evgheni Prigojin, in June 2023. His previous posts praising the president he described as “meta-irony” for “those who understand,” without being able to explain exactly what he was referring to.
