In Tuapse, where a refinery has been burning since last week, and an oil spill has occurred at sea, along with reported “oil rains”, “there are no serious threats”, declared Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, April 28.
According to Putin, this assessment was conveyed to him by the governor of the Krasnodar region, Veniamin Kondratiev. “There are no serious threats, people are coping on the spot with the challenges they face,” said the president.
He added, however, that strikes on the energy infrastructure in Tuapse could have “serious ecological consequences” and accused Ukraine of carrying them out amidst losses on the front.
“The Kiev regime and its supporters have resorted to openly terrorist methods. The reasons are clear — the enemy is incapable of halting the advance of our troops on the front line and is losing territories daily,” the Interfax agency quoted.
