The alleged Minister of Economy from the Transnistrian region, Serghei Obolinic, arrived in Chisinau on Tuesday. The separatist official is heading to the headquarters of the OSCE mission in the Republic of Moldova, where a joint meeting of the working groups for economy is taking place, with the participation of experts from both banks of the Dniester.
The information was confirmed for Realitatea by the representatives of the Bureau for Reintegration Policies. According to them, Obolonic is the coordinator of the working group from Tiraspol and has agreed to come to the constitutionally controlled territory.
“This fact counters the unfounded narrative of Tiraspol about the existence of barriers in the conduct of working meetings on the right bank of the Nistru. We will provide additional information about the results of the joint meeting of the sectoral working groups,” the Office’s response states.
Previously in the public space, information appeared that Obolonic is expected to discuss the introduction of VAT for companies on the left bank of the Nistru. The Transnistrian side has not yet published information about this visit.
Previously, officials from Tiraspol refused to participate in 1+1 meetings in Chisinau, citing security reasons for the delegation from the self-proclaimed region and regulations regarding the punishment of separatism.
