Alexandru Munteanu told Agerpres that he does not mind discussions on the topic of the unification of Romania and the Republic of Moldova. According to him, currently the two states are very close to each other.
“I feel very good. Indeed, I believe we are very close. Never before, observing the developments of both countries and having family and friends on both banks of the Prut, I believe we are very close and we were one country, we have a common history, we have writers, we have people. I believe now it is not a problem where you are”, declared Munteanu.
The official admits, however, that his main objective in his term as prime minister is the integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European Union. According to him, “in history, as in life, things can change and we must be ready for anything”.
“Right now, we cannot simultaneously focus on the unionist project and the European integration project. We currently have the European integration project on the table. And here, as I have stated before, I am a manager. I have the mandate from the party that won the majority in Parliament and appointed the Munteanu Government to work on the European agenda, which we are doing,” emphasized the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova.
