Russia has launched hundreds of drones in a massive attack on Ukraine on Wednesday, announced Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ukrainian leader believes that the offensive is not a coincidence, being correlated with the visit of the US president to China and the international geopolitical agenda.
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski announced on Wednesday that Russia has launched at least 800 drones as part of an attack on Ukraine since the beginning of May 13th. Dozens of people have been injured, and six have died.
“Throughout the entire day today, the Russians have launched waves of ‘Shahed’ drones over our regions – specifically and deliberately targeting the regions closest to the borders of NATO countries. Strikes have already been reported in Transcarpathia, the Lviv region, Volyn, as well as in the Ivano-Frankivsk and Rivne regions”, the Ukrainian president specified on platform X.

“It cannot be called a coincidence”
The leader from Kiev noted, at the same time, that the attack is taking place on the same day that American President Donald Trump is visiting China, asserting that “this is not a coincidence”.
“It certainly cannot be called a coincidence that one of Russia’s longest massive attacks against Ukraine is taking place exactly at the moment when the President of the United States has arrived for a visit in China – a visit from which much is expected”, he added.
According to the Ukrainian leader, the Kremlin is thus trying to influence the international political agenda and destabilize the geopolitical context during a major event.
“Trying to do this at the cost of Ukrainian lives and Ukrainian infrastructure,” added the head of state.
