Russia has announced that it will intensify attacks on Kiev and that the new strikes will target decision-making centers, command points, and defense industry facilities in the Ukrainian capital.

The announcement was made by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which stated that the measure comes as a response to a Ukrainian drone attack on a target in the Lugansk region occupied by Russian forces, notes Reuters.

Moscow maintains that the target of the attack was a student dormitory, however Ukrainian authorities assert that the destroyed building housed the headquarters of the Russian drone unit Rubicon.

The new threats come after one of the most powerful attacks launched by Russia on Ukraine this year. On the night of May 24, Russian forces launched a massive missile and drone attack on Kiev and other Ukrainian regions.

President Volodimir Zelenski announced that the toll has reached four dead and 83 injured.

“It was a massive attack – 90 missiles of various types, including 36 ballistic ones. 600 drones were also launched. Kiev was the main target”, the Ukrainian leader conveyed.

According to the authorities in Kiev, several residential buildings, schools, a market, and civil infrastructures were hit during the bombings.
