Vladimir Putin has been following special news for 15 years. These are edited exclusively for him and are not shown to anyone else.
Dmitri Skorobutov, former editor-in-chief of the “Vesti” program on the propaganda channel “Rossiya-1”, made the revelation in an interview.
“It was something like this: Let’s assume that a regular edition of ‘News’ is broadcasted at 8:00 PM, after which the production team stays. We had instructions – what news to keep, what to add, where to embellish, where to eliminate. So that Putin would then be shown an idealized image of a beautiful Russia,” the editor recounted.
Journalists have had such tasks since 2011, reports ukranews.com. According to him, it all started with the protests after the State Duma elections, and today the Russian leader receives very little real and truthful information, including about the war in Ukraine.
Skorobutov also asserts that military reports for Putin began to be “cut” in the spring of 2022, when the Ukrainian Defense Forces sank the cruiser “Moskva” – the flagship of the Russian Fleet in the Black Sea.
Asked who initiated the “correct” news flows for Putin, the editor assumed it could be about people from the Russian leader’s inner circle.
