The Republic of Moldova produces and exports drones. According to economist Veaceslav Ioniță, the value of these equipment exports has increased from 6000 dollars in 2023 to 630,000 dollars in 2025, that is, over 100 times.
The data presented by the economist shows that drones have come to represent almost half of the country’s aeronautical exports, reports newsmaker.md. According to the analyst, the development of this sector is based on the experience accumulated by the local industry, which has exported aeronautical components and equipment worth 86 million dollars since the declaration of Moldova’s independence.
“If before we were exporting almost exclusively components for the aviation industry, today the Republic of Moldova is already exporting drones. In 2023 we exported drones worth only 6000 dollars. In 2024 the exports increased to 68,000 dollars. And in 2025 they reached 630,000 dollars. Practically, for three years in a row, the drone exports have grown about 10 times annually. I admit, I like this pace,” Ionita declared.
According to the economist, the value of exports, however, remains modest compared to the global drone market.
