The fuel crisis in Russia is beginning to affect imports as well. The cost of transporting goods from China has increased by 20% in June, and logistics specialists estimate that the price hikes will continue into July.

The founder of Tradest company, Andrei Zaharcenko, asserts that the fuel shortage has become a major problem for Russian importers.

“Transportation within Russia has become more expensive, and delivery times have been extended. Trucks come from China with full tanks, but for the return trip they need to refuel in Russia, where fuel is more expensive, and many gas stations limit the amount that can be purchased,” he explained.

According to Tradest data, the cost of the fastest road freight transport between Shanghai and Moscow has reached $14,500 for a large tonnage truck and continues to rise. Logisticians warn that rates remain unstable and the trend is clearly upward.
