The American army will completely withdraw from Iraq by September 30, declared on Tuesday the Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, during a meeting with the American President Donald Trump at the White House, reports DPA.
“We don’t believe we need a military presence there anymore,” said Donald Trump at the White House, adding that the United States is there to help Iraq if needed, but he doesn’t think this will be necessary, reports Agerpres.
Trump and Al-Zaidi have thus confirmed a previously announced schedule for the much-discussed withdrawal. The number of American troops has already been reduced in recent months.
