The Polish Minister of Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, stated on Monday, July 20, that the threat posed by Russia is “still very high” and that Poland needs to be prepared.
Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that Russia “recently captured a significant number of Ukrainian drones“, adding that Moscow could use them “as a means of provocation to mislead and carry out false flag operations”, writes TVP World.
The Minister of Defense stated that, on Tuesday, July 21, the Polish government’s security committee will analyze this situation, adding that Russia is intensifying its “escalation” tactics against the backdrop of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Polish and Swedish fighter jets intercepted Russian aircraft over the Baltic Sea in three incidents last week, Kosiniak-Kamysz further stated.
“We are constantly facing tests of the resilience of our anti-aircraft defense systems and critical infrastructure, especially in terms of online activities and GPS signal jamming”, he added.
