Sergey Lavrov has issued new warnings to the European Union, arguing that a conflict with Russia “will not be a conventional war,” and spoke about an alleged nuclear program in Germany.
The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, issued a series of warnings on Wednesday, July 22, regarding the relations between Russia and the West.
While in Manila, Philippines, attending the ministerial meetings of ASEAN, the head of Russian diplomacy commented on the militarization of the European Union, the possibility of Germany developing nuclear weapons, the prospects of a conflict with Europe, and his upcoming meeting with the American Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.
“Russia is prepared for any development in the context of the militarization of the European Union, but it has no intention of attacking anyone. If Europe starts a conflict with Moscow, it will no longer be a conventional war. Russia is concerned about reports that Germany is developing its own nuclear program,” stated the head of Russian diplomacy, Sergey Lavrov.
The statements were made during a press conference organized on the sidelines of the ASEAN ministerial meetings, following Lavrov’s participation in the Russia-ASEAN conferences and the meetings of the Foreign Ministers from the region.
