A former CIA agent has recommended NATO to shoot down Russian drones and military aircraft, as a way to put an end to the increasingly frequent incursions ordered by Vladimir Putin, which affect the whole of Europe.

The statement comes after European air forces were once again mobilized, on the night from Wednesday to Thursday, in response to a suspected violation of Polish airspace by a Russian missile. Smoke was observed rising above the locality of Tarnawa Kolonia, in the Lublin region of Poland, where, according to available information, a crater with a diameter of approximately 10 meters was found, after the air raid sirens were activated throughout the area.

Last night’s incident is the most recent in a series of airspace violations attributed to Moscow, considered by analysts as tests of NATO’s tolerance limits and Europe’s reaction. Just last week, a Romanian F-16 type aircraft had to shoot down, for the first time, a drone that had entered the country’s airspace, following several repeated violations.

Former CIA agent Sean Wiswesser has been monitoring for months the incursions of Russian military aircraft into the Baltic states, as well as cases where Russian drones have led to the closure of airports. With 28 years of experience within the CIA and a deep understanding of the warfare methods used by Putin, he believes that the only way to stop an aggressor is to respond firmly.
