The device was neutralized by a Romanian Air Force F-16 plane, which used its onboard cannon.
In her message, Ursula von der Leyen described the situation as a form of hybrid warfare and warned of a threat campaign that she says is escalating.
“Today, Romania has destroyed a naval drone carrying explosives near its Neptun Deep platform in the Black Sea. An escalating campaign of threats is underway, unsettling our citizens and attempting to divide our Union,” conveyed the President of the European Commission, on X.
