Russia must complete the “special military operation” (ed. note: term used by the Kremlin’s propaganda to define the war in Ukraine) by 2030, says Victor Sobolev, a member of the Defense Committee in the State Duma. According to him, the country’s army must prepare for a possible armed confrontation with NATO.

The statement was made during an interview, the official asserting that the North Atlantic Alliance would like to fight with the Russian Federation, writes The Moscow Times.

“The fascist regime must be ended before Poland and other NATO countries are prepared for war with Russia. The Poles, Germans, French, British, Belgians, Norwegians, Finns, Swedes – they all want to fight against Russia and provoke a strategic defeat,” said the parliamentarian.

The deputy believes that, nevertheless, a quick end to the war in Ukraine in 2026 is unlikely. In his opinion, a ceasefire could provoke military actions and intense ones over a year.
