The Kremlin stated on Monday that the British government’s decision to provide Ukraine with classified information about components manufactured in the UK for the production of long-range SCALP cruise missiles will “add fuel to the fire,” and that Moscow views it extremely negatively, reports Reuters.

The British Prime Minister Andy Burnham arrived in Kiev on Monday for the “Coalition of the Will” meeting that provides military assistance to Kiev. Several European leaders are participating in the festivities organized in Kiev on Monday on the occasion of Ukraine’s National Day. President Nicușor Dan will intervene via video conference.

For Burnham, the visit to Kiev represents his first official foreign trip since taking office as Prime Minister, following the resignation of his Labour colleague Sir Keir Starmer at the end of June.

Burnham is expected to detail London’s assistance in helping Kiev improve its domestic production of long-range missiles.

When asked about the visit and the support provided, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused the United Kingdom of doing everything possible to prevent any progress towards a potential peace agreement.
