The Iranian army announces that it has rebuilt all the weapon systems damaged during the war and that it has replenished its arsenal with new equipment, including those imported from abroad. The statement was made on Wednesday by the spokesperson of the Iranian army, Mohammad Akraminia, on state television.

The damaged equipment has been repaired and redistributed, while new systems have been added to Iran’s military capabilities, reports AFP.

“These equipments have strengthened our combat capabilities,” stated Akraminia, specifying that some of the new systems come from the Iranian defense industry and the army, while others have been purchased from abroad.

The official also maintained that Iran has taken “significant measures” to restore the military capabilities affected by enemy attacks.

He defended, at the same time, the possibility of a preemptive attack, which he said could be legitimate under certain conditions, if it respects the principles of proportionality and necessity provided by international law and the UN Charter.

The statements come in the context of persistent tensions in the Middle East. The war began at the end of February, following American-Israeli airstrikes on Iran, followed by Iranian reprisals.
