The Russian army would increasingly struggle to cover its losses on the front, claims the head of the Ukrainian military intelligence services (GUR). Oleh Ivashchenko asserts that troop morale is very low, while Moscow is preparing a new mobilization.
Oleh Ivașcenko, the head of the Main Directorate of Information of the Ministry of Defense, asserts that Russian authorities are preparing to mobilize at least 800,000 soldiers immediately after the elections, according to Dialog.UA.
He expressed his doubt about Russia’s ability to mobilize such a large number of people in such a short time.
“The average life expectancy of a Russian recruit upon arrival on the battlefield is 20-30 minutes”, stated the head of the Ukrainian military intelligence services.
According to the official, Russian troops are supplemented with 1,000-1,200 people every day, but the losses exceed the number of new recruits.
“Yesterday, 1,410; the day before, 1,551, of which 835 were killed in battle. The enemy’s morale is very low, because no one wants to fight,” concluded Ivașcenko.
Putin’s army loses 6,000 more soldiers each month than it recruits.
At the end of August, several Western officials told the British press that Russia is suffering losses on the Ukrainian fronts far greater than its current recruitment capacity.
According to an analysis published in The Guardian, although Moscow continues to attract about 1,000 new recruits per day, this pace is no longer sufficient to compensate for the number of soldiers killed or injured on the front in the last two months. Officials quoted by the British publication argue that the difference between personnel losses and new recruitments has reached about 6,000 people per month.
