Europe must be prepared to face even more propaganda from Russia, asserts the Prime Minister of Moldova, Vasile Tofan, in an interview for CNN. According to the official, such circumstances could potentially lead to the election victory of extremist parties in countries with established democracies.
In the official’s opinion, Moscow does not react to weakness, but only to strength. Against the backdrop of drone incursions into national airspace, the Prime Minister of Moldova has ruled out an imminent military attack. According to Vasile Tofan, Moscow is actually testing the reaction of NATO countries, and most drones are directed towards Romania or Poland, where similar incidents have been reported, writes IPN.
The Prime Minister of Chisinau specified that just in August, more incidents were recorded in the Moldovan airspace than in the entire year of 2025.
At the same time, Vasile Tofan described Moldova as a laboratory of resistance to Russian interference, recalling that pro-European parties won the parliamentary elections despite the hundreds of millions of dollars spent by Moscow to destabilize the country.
When asked about the secret of this resilience and what he would recommend to other states facing similar threats, the official mentioned that it is about a combination of free and strong press and giving up naivety regarding the tools used by Russia, which requires solid security services, as Moldova has, according to the Prime Minister.
