The elections in Gagauzia, scheduled for November 15, must be conducted “freely and transparently”. The statement belongs to the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas.

“It is very important to remember that the elections in Gagauzia must also be conducted in a transparent and free manner. They will demonstrate cohesion and democratic resilience,” Kallas conveyed, in context.
At the same time, Kallas has assured that the left bank of the Dniester will “not be an obstacle” to the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union, reports newsmaker.md.
“As we heard today, the situation in the Transnistrian region is fragile. The current economic model there is not sustainable, which means that Chisinau’s efforts towards socio-economic reintegration are all the more important. Transnistria will not be an obstacle to Moldova’s accession to the EU”, the official concluded.
