Leaders and influencers from the so-called “sovereignist” movement have turned the number of likes on social networks into a real brand and have always claimed that likes turn into votes, an opportunity to enjoy unprecedented popular support. After the Ukrainians blew up the Yandex data centers in Russia, a series of experts declared that these were real bot factories, and the number of interactions on the social networks of those who agree with Russia will plummet.
Digi24.ro has checked the pages of the main “opinion leaders” to see how much popular love they still have on Facebook. George Simion has made the number of likes on Facebook a real business card. There have been numerous situations where he even mocked the state leaders or other leaders because their “number of likes does not compare with the ones he receives”.
And so it is. The AUR leader enjoys hundreds of thousands of followers in every live broadcast, and each Facebook post gathers tens of thousands of likes, comments, and shares, at least until yesterday. How the situation changed from one day to the next, Digi24.ro analyzed the Facebook page of the AUR leader to see how the number of interactions on his page evolved.
For instance, at the end of this August, it easily gathered almost 50 thousand likes in just a few hours after posting, as can be observed in the screenshot below:

The same trend continued on all the subsequent posts on the same Facebook page, as can be seen in other screenshots taken from the page of the same politician.

Things change dramatically if we look at the latest post made by the same political leader, addressed to the same audience, with the same type of message. At the post made 21 hours ago (ed. note at the time of writing the article) the AUR leader managed to gather just over nine thousand likes, as can be seen in the capture below:

All this while on October 11th, he was still gathering over 30 thousand likes in just a few hours. How much his supporters still appreciate Călin Georgescu, Digi24.ro has analyzed and the pages of some of the most fervent supporters of the former presidential candidate, Călin Georgescu. Coincidentally or not, their situation is a carbon copy of the AUR president’s. In the case of Darius Arma, one of Georgescu’s most radical supporters, who presents himself on Facebook as a “musician/band” (editor’s note: we didn’t find any songs on his page), the number of likes has sunk like a Russian ship from one day to the next.
For instance, in the latest posts on Facebook, it barely gathers just over a thousand likes, as can be seen below:

Perhaps the most notorious influencer from the sovereigntist camp, Bobby D, as he is known on social networks, is facing the same problem: He gathers a few thousand likes on his posts from the last 24 hours, even though his Facebook page was downright flooded with appreciation before, as can be seen in the two screenshots we attach below:
