The Pentagon has secretly established, a few months ago, a new “elite” agency, specialized in clandestine actions of sabotage and disruption of foreign technological projects, considered threats that endanger the military superiority of the USA, Politico reports.
This agency was established in April this year, but so far, neither the US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, nor any other high-ranking Pentagon official, has publicly mentioned the existence of this department, titled “Technology Support Office” (TSO, in the original).
By establishing an agency dedicated to expanding this type of activity, the Department of Defense signals its intention to intensify a range of “aggressive” secret activities abroad, including potential cyber attacks, disruption of supply chains, and disinformation operations.
Currently, information about TSO is almost impossible to find on the Pentagon’s websites, and the agency is only mentioned as such in a few Department of Defense documents.
A politician discussed, under anonymity, about TSO with 12 former and current US officials in the field of national security, including people who contributed to the establishment of the agency or worked closely with it.
