The Belgian Minister of Defense, Theo Francken, has warned Russia about the severe consequences of an attack by the aggressor state against any European city. “We will wipe Moscow off the face of the Earth” if this happens, warned the defense minister from Brussels, in an interview for a local newspaper. The Belgian official said he is confident that Putin “will not dare” to launch a missile against Belgium, according to The Moscow Times.
Western intelligence agencies have previously repeatedly warned that the Kremlin intends to attack one or more NATO countries in the coming years.
Franken believes that a large-scale invasion from Russia is unlikely, but a “gray zone” scenario could materialize, with “little green men” inciting the Russian-speaking minority in Estonia against what the Kremlin regime would call “a Nazi regime in Tallinn”, as it ridiculously claims that the democratically elected government in Kiev is “Nazi”.
“Before you know it, they will have annexed a part of Estonia,” Franken said.
At the same time, Franken urged against underestimating Russia’s military potential.
“The Russians have increased their capabilities. Their military economy produces four times more ammunition than all of NATO combined,” the minister stated.
“Even the budgets cannot be compared, because the Russians can buy much more at the same price as us”. He also mentioned that there is currently no central command in Europe and, in the event of Russian aggression, only “a few units of the Eurocorps from Strasbourg” would be immediately available for deployment.
