The Ukrainian army conveyed on Sunday details about a success recorded on the Crimean front. They destroyed a Russian mobile missile launch system “Triumph”, designed to detect and destroy aerial targets at long distances. The Kremlin had invested a billion dollars in this weapon.
The Ukrainian army claims that the Russians used the “Triumph” S-400 system to attack Ukrainian territory. The launcher, worth 1 billion dollars, was located near Yevpatoria. During the operation, an ammunition depot in Crimea was also destroyed.
The operation took place on October 6 and was coordinated by the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian army.
Heavy fighting in Pokrovsk
The invading Russian forces appear to be on the verge of finally seizing the Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk, in the east of the country, a symbolic victory that Vladimir Putin has been pursuing for 21 months and for which he has paid a huge and ever-increasing cost.
The fighting within the city has intensified in recent days after Russian forces successfully infiltrated the Ukrainian city. The fall of Pokrovsk, whose strategic value has dramatically decreased, but which would still remain the biggest victory for Russia since 2023, now seems inevitable, according to those on the ground.
