US President Donald Trump has expressed openness to the adoption of new US Congress sanctions against Russia, just days after Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated that Trump assured him that his country can continue to import Russian oil, reports dpa, according to Agerpres.
“Any country that does business with Russia will be severely sanctioned,” Trump told reporters Sunday evening at Palm Beach airport in Florida. “We could add Iran to this formula,” Trump further stated.
The White House leader did not provide further details regarding the planned punitive measures.
On Friday, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated, after a meeting with Trump, that he received assurances from the American president that his country will be able to continue importing oil from Russia despite US sanctions against Moscow.
