The accredited ambassador of Russia, Oleg Ozerov, went on an official visit to Tiraspol. The trip takes place immediately after the 1+1 meeting, held on April 16 on the left bank of the Dniester.
Officially, Ozerov claims that he brought medical utensils to the region, reports realitatea.md. According to local press, the diplomat arrived in Tiraspol with 12 boxes of scalpels, scissors, clamps, and other surgical equipment.
“Our assistance is a sign that Russia loves Transnistria and remembers Transnistria. Your future is closely tied to Russia – we cannot imagine it otherwise. People must be confident that Russia will not forget them,” said Ozerov, quoted by the publication TSV from the Transnistrian region.
On April 16, at the 1+1 meeting, the alleged Transnistrian foreign minister Vitali Ignatiev insisted on resuming the 5+2 negotiation format, which also includes Russia. The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Valeriu Chiveri, pointed out that this formula can no longer function, in the context of the war in Ukraine, and the two banks of the Dniester cannot have diplomatic relations, as they are not two separate states.
