The German Minister of the Interior, Alexander Dobrindt, has warned that the country faces “daily” hybrid attacks from foreign powers, whose names he did not mention, according to Politico.
Espionage, sabotage, cyber attacks, and covert operations “with the aim of destabilizing Germany or directly affecting it” are “a constant reality,” said Minister Alexander Dobrindt, in an interview given to the publication BILD, Sunday, in the context of the drone incident that took place this week at the Leipzig airport.
German authorities announced on Wednesday that a drone loaded with explosives was spotted a few meters away from a Ukrainian Antonov cargo plane at Leipzig/Halle airport, and was taken down by a bus driver.
On Thursday, Minister Alexander Dobrindt suggested that it might have been an attack by a state actor.
