Donald Trump recently stated, during a joint conference with the President of Argentina, that the Russian economy is on the verge of collapsing. Information about the increasingly poor performances has been appearing more and more frequently lately, and Andrei Caramitru comments on them.
“You know, there are long lines for gasoline in Russia right now… suddenly his (n.r. Vladimir Putin) economy will collapse, and I would like to see him doing well. I mean, I had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin, but he simply doesn’t want to end that war.”, said the American president.
His remark was quickly countered by a stance from the Kremlin. Among those who believe that the Russian economy is on the brink of collapse is also Andrei Caramitru, who notes, from official sources, that in August Russia’s total exports fell by 17.5%. “Russia is already game over. Total exports in August fell by 17.5% (!!!). And this is before the total effect of the refineries that disappear daily (the offensive on refineries started in August). The end of the year will be much much worse, and next year even more so”, comments the economist on his Facebook account. “With these figures – it means that from a trade surplus (exports minus imports) of 200 billion USD per year before the war, they reach 0 or deficit. The money from the sovereign fund is also running out in a few months.
Banks are zombified and can no longer finance the state. News confirming this is already appearing: the money now given to a soldier who signs the contract has dropped from 33,000 dollars to 8,000. There are many factories where no one has been paid for months. Out of fear, people are massively withdrawing their money from banks, amplifying the collapse. They will totally and terminally collapse. And the collapse will start from December / January already. And – as usual – the Kremlin will protect as much as possible the central priorities.
That is, the periphery – Belarus, Chechnya, Transnistria, regions in East Asia, occupied regions in Georgia – will receive almost nothing, so separatist movements will start. And so the great shitty empire will collapse as they won’t be able to do anything, as their entire army is chewed up by Ukrainians. It will be epic”, comments Caramitru.
