Two former prisoners, who deserted from the front in Ukraine, have become suspects in a case involving the brutal murder of Mihail Emelianov, a 30-year-old Russian entrepreneur, owner of a drug franchise in Thailand.

We are talking about Dmitri Maskalev and Yaroslav Demidov, writes portal 78, quoting volunteer Svetlana Sherstoboeva.

Emelianov, originally from Saint Petersburg, had been living in Thailand for some time. On January 7, he went to a meeting in Bangkok and shortly after, he stopped answering the phone. Before his disappearance, he had warned his relatives that he might be in danger and activated his location tracking. The last signal was recorded in a residential block.

On February 1, near Pattaya, Thai authorities discovered the remains of Emelianov, dismembered and partially burned.

The Thai police announced that they are considering the hypothesis of a murder on the basis of a financial conflict.
