A Russian drone struck a passenger train in the Odessa region of Ukraine on Thursday. Two people were killed in the attack.

The victims were two crew members, the train mechanic and his assistant, stated in a Facebook post by the General Director of Ukrainian Railways, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, writes Antena3.

The two died while trying to evacuate people from the carriages. According to the Ukrainian Railways, there were 340 passengers on the train. Evacuation bus services were organized for them.

This is not the first time Russia has targeted a passenger train. According to the authorities in Kiev, the actions are part of an effort to disrupt logistics.
