The Israeli army plans at least three more weeks of campaign against Iran, still having “thousands of targets” to hit, stated the spokesperson of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), Brigadier General Effie Defrin.

“We have thousands of targets ahead. We are prepared, in coordination with our American allies, with plans until at least the Jewish holiday of Passover, in about three weeks. And we have even broader plans for another three weeks after that”, Defrin clarified, according to Times of Israel.

According to the IDF, since the beginning of the campaign against Iran on February 28, the Israeli Air Forces have conducted about 400 waves of attacks in western and central Iran, focusing on destroying infrastructure and targeting agents from firefighter, defense, and production units.

Israeli officials claim that the USA and Israel have already hit thousands of targets since the beginning of operations.

Defrin emphasized that the IDF “does not work according to a timer or a calendar, but rather to achieve its objectives”, adding that Israel’s goal is to “severely weaken the Iranian regime”.

Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, called on other countries on Sunday to avoid any action that could escalate the conflict with Israel and the United States.

The call comes after US President Donald Trump requested measures to secure the Strait of Hormuz, according to AFP.
