The Israeli aviation struck the “Russian House of Culture” in the city of Nabatieh, in southern Lebanon, destroying the building that housed the center. The information was conveyed by Rossotrudnichestvo, the Russian governmental agency responsible for promoting the Kremlin’s influence in the world through cultural, humanitarian programs, and by supporting Russian communities abroad.

According to the director of the complex, Asaad Diya, the institution, founded in 2004, was a socio-cultural center where graduates of Russian universities and Russian citizens from the entire southern region of Lebanon met. Here were organized “festive evenings of Russian-Lebanese friendship”, concerts, Russian language courses, and music lessons for children.

“As a result of an Israeli military attack on the Lebanese city of Nabatieh, the building of our partners – the Russian House of Culture was destroyed. We emphasize that there was no military activity in this place. The attack cannot be justified by anything. We consider its destruction an act of unprovoked aggression,” stated in a Rossotrudnichestvo communique.

The director of the center specified that the institution, which had recently been renovated after the “Israeli aggression” of 2024, was operating on the ground floor of the destroyed building. “The building was completely empty, everyone left when the war started,” he said, adding that the center also provided “modest assistance to low-income families”.
