The President of France says that “technical” discussions are currently taking place to resume negotiations with the Russians to stop the war in Ukraine, reports Euronews. Macron also condemned the Kremlin regime’s refusal to return to the negotiating table, in an increasingly tense period. On the other hand, while France and Italy are making efforts to reopen diplomatic channels with the Kremlin, Germany is taking a diametrically opposed stance.
Emmanuel Macron signaled on Tuesday that he is willing to resume diplomatic dialogue with dictator Vladimir Putin.

In a statement made during a trip to eastern France, Macron said that there are “technical level contacts” with the Kremlin regime to resume discussions.

He said the process is taking place in terms of “transparency and consultation” with the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, but could not specify a timeline. The French leader once again condemned Russia’s attacks against Ukraine, describing them as “intolerable”.

On Tuesday, the invading forces heavily targeted Ukraine’s civil infrastructure, as the country faces an extremely harsh winter and temperatures below freezing.
