The Kremlin’s spokesperson, Dmitri Peskov, mocked the conversation with Emmanuel Macron revealed by Donald Trump in the context of the Davos Forum, stating that the current European politicians will not be able to oppose the American president, according to EFE, quoted by Agerpres.

“They are incapable of resisting Trump’s pressures,” Peskov asserted on Russian television.

He emphasized that the “dramatic changes” taking place recently are a consequence of the “double standards” and “hypocrisy” that “have prevailed in Europe for many decades”.

“Unfortunately, these are the product of the weak generation of politicians currently in power in Europe,” he noted.

To give an example, he mentioned the reaction of the Europeans when Trump made public this week, at the Davos Forum in Switzerland, his conversation with the French president Emmanuel Macron.

“Very interesting. All Europeans simply got upset (…). But when Macron made the conversation with (Russian president Vladimir) Putin public, no one got upset anymore,” he noted.
