Nicușor Dan summons the Supreme Defense Council of the Country (CSAT). The meeting will take place on March 11, starting at 9:00, according to the press service at Cotroceni Palace.
CSAT is set to analyze the situation in the Middle East and its impact on Romania. Discussions will also be held about the temporary deployment of military capabilities within the country. No specific troops, equipment, or machinery are mentioned.
On Tuesday, the Bucharest press reported that the USA might want to bring aircraft to the Mihail Kogâlniceanu base in Constanța, to use them in the context of operations in the Middle East.

The air base in Constanța has also been used in 2025 by the air forces, in the context of the war between Israel and Iran.
