President Vladimir Putin has urgently altered his schedule for Tuesday, against the backdrop of a visit to Moscow by CIA Director, John Ratcliffe. A major event planned for August 25, involving hundreds of people, was unexpectedly postponed a few days ago.
The report was made by Alexander Yunashev, a correspondent in the Kremlin press pool. According to the reporter, the director of American espionage is expected to meet with government officials.
Moscow and Washington have not yet confirmed the visit. Dmitri Peskov previously told the press that he does not have information about the arrival of a military plane at Vnukovo airport in Moscow.
If Ratcliffe’s visit is confirmed, this will be the first trip of a CIA director to Russia since the outbreak of the war with Ukraine, writes The Moscow Times.
Ratcliffe flew from Washington to Riga, then arrived in Moscow, according to foreign press. Information about a possible visit of an American delegation to the Russian capital emerged after the CIA chief’s flight was spotted on Flightradar.
