The issue of rotation of Russian soldiers participating in the invasion of Ukraine remains one of the most sensitive, and the Ministry of Defense is analyzing it, stated Vladimir Putin, responding to a question from writer and “patriot Z” Zahar Prilepin regarding the possibility of rotation for mobilized soldiers.
“The Ministry of Defense is considering this and, of course, it is a pressing issue. We haven’t forgotten about it,” said Putin, but immediately implied that mobilized soldiers should not expect a quick return home. “We will base our decisions on the realities on the front lines,” he added.
According to Putin, during the course of the war, mobilized soldiers have become “real professionals” and are no longer referred to as “mobiki” (a derogatory term for mobilized soldiers), as they are now carrying out combat missions alongside career soldiers.
“
They are fully-recognized combat units. They act as professionals alongside their comrades in marine infantry, airborne assault units, as well as in fields such as unmanned aviation, artillery, and counter-battery warfare,” affirmed Putin.
“The wives of mobilized soldiers, who have long been demanding the rotation of their husbands, received Putin’s statements with hostility. One of the activists previously involved in protests doubted the sincerity of the Kremlin leader.
“From my point of view, it’s just another evasion. The problem is really serious, but the realities are not real. So, we won’t change anything. That’s it,” she commented for the publication “Agency.”
