Russian billionaire Valeri Kustov, directors of his company Efko, and a government official responsible for drone development have been detained as part of a broad investigation into fraud, reported several Russian publications on Thursday, picked up by Reuters.
Kustov is the founder, majority shareholder, and chairman of the board of Efko, a company active in drone production, but also the main producer of sunflower oil in Russia.
Three other officials from Efko were also detained, according to reports from the Interfax news agency and other publications.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade confirmed the detention of Alla Polovcenia, deputy director of the department for unmanned systems and robotics.
