On the eastern front of Ukraine, in the area of the Serebranka locality in the Donetsk region, Ukrainian military observers have noticed an unusual strategy of the Russian army. Instead of conquering and consolidating positions, Moscow’s troops move chaotically through a vast “gray zone” – a disputed territory where no one really controls the ground, shows the updated map from the DeepState platform.
Russia constantly presses on the contact line, without remaining in positions. Its units infiltrate from Hrihorivka, along the Siverski Donets River, through Serebranka and up to Dronivka. The attacks come in small waves – infantry groups, sometimes even on motorcycles. The conquered points are not defended, but only transited, say the Ukrainian military.
The losses of the Serebransk forestry make the situation even more complicated. The forested area offers the Russians a corridor for attempts to penetrate deeper into Ukrainian positions. “They don’t want to occupy anything concrete. They just sneak in, gather and continue to move forward,” say the soldiers on the ground.
According to DeepState, the numerical advantage of the Russians remains decisive: in recent days, their presence has also been observed in Dronivka, where a new “gray zone” has appeared. The tactic is described by analysts as “strange and absurd” – a continuous effort without territorial gain, but which exposes Russian troops to Ukrainian fire. “It’s reality: you can hit them, because they throw themselves senselessly forward,” comments an observer.
Although the number of assaults has almost halved, Russia’s losses have increased. The spokesman for the 11th Army Corps, Dmitro Zaporojets, says that if before the Ukrainians eliminated 65-69 enemy soldiers per day, now the daily balance rises to over 90.
The attacks are concentrated towards the localities of Serebranka, Dronivka and Iampil, but the actions are fragmented and disorganized. “Weather and logistical fatigue” have reduced the pace, but not the price paid by the Russian army.
In the meantime, Ukraine reports moderate progress in other directions. The assault troops would have advanced up to 1.6 kilometers, and in the Pokrovsk area, occupiers were neutralized on an area of 3.4 square kilometers.
