The Ukrainian partisan group Atesh claims that one of its agents, infiltrated in the Russian army, set fire to the unit’s truck to prevent its departure to Pokrovsk, a city on the front line where the situation remains extremely tense.
For years, Russia has been trying to capture this important logistical node for the troops from Kiev in the Donetsk region, and the recent intensified attacks have breached the city’s defense.
The Ukrainian partisan group Atesh asserts that one of its agents within Russia’s 115th Motorized Rifle Brigade set fire to a truck to prevent the deployment of troops in Pokrovsk, writes Kyiv Post.
The images show a person igniting a flammable substance on a Russian truck with the pro-war “Z” sign painted on the door.
Atesh stated that the unit is stationed near Avdiivka, another key battlefield in the Donetsk region, captured by Russian troops in February 2024. The separate 115th Motorized Rifle Brigade is based in the village of Lastochkyne, northwest of Avdiivka. The Ukrainian media that picked up the story notes that it cannot independently verify the authenticity of the information provided by Atesh.
The group claimed that only the deficient Russian command prompted the agents to carry out similar sabotage operations.
