Several pro-Russian sources distributed on Tuesday and Wednesday a video with statements from the European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, claiming that Marta Kos chastises the authorities of R. Moldova: “You are distancing the country even further from the EU. If you are serious about the EU, you should listen to your citizens and stop imprisoning opposition leaders and journalists – people who think differently from you. Then we can talk”.

In reality, Marta Kos made these statements referring to the authorities in Georgia, as can be seen from the press statements on Tuesday, November 4th. The propagandists intentionally omitted the sequence before the published statements, in which Kos states: “Dear government of Georgia, you are not bringing your people to the EU…” (in original: “Dear government of Georgia, you are not bringing your people to the EU…”. The sequence can be followed at minute 32 of the press conference.

The sources that distributed the fake (Komsomolskaya Pravda in Moldova (on website and on Facebook page), the news.mail.ru website and the Telegram channel Genius of the Carpathians) have been targeted in numerous articles by Stopfals.md and are known for frequently distributing fakes and manipulations of Kremlin propaganda.
