The head of EU diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, stated on Monday that the dynamics of the war in Ukraine are about to “change” in favor of Kiev, reports AFP.

“Ukraine is in a much better position than it was a year ago,” she stated at a press conference.

She particularly evoked the ‘record losses of Moscow on the battlefield’, ‘deep strikes’ of Kiev on Russian territory and the modest celebrations on the occasion of the victory over Nazism on May 9 in the Russian capital, which took place on Saturday, without military equipment.

Russian President Vladimir Putin ‘has never been in such a position of weakness’, Kaja Kallas further stated.

After more than four years of large-scale battles, intense fights are taking place on the front.

According to an AFP analysis of data from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russia lost ground in Ukraine in April, something that has not happened since the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the summer of 2023.
