The ministerial discussions on the war in Ukraine on Wednesday have been “postponed,” but negotiations at the top advisor level continue, the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, according to AFP.
“Today’s meeting on peace negotiations in Ukraine with foreign ministers has been postponed. Discussions between advisors continue, but they are closed to the media,” the Foreign Office announced in a statement, according to antena3.ro. The head of the Ukrainian presidential administration, Andrii Yermak, announced that he arrived in London on Wednesday with two ministers to “meet” with “American and European interlocutors,” despite the postponement of ministerial discussions.
“Regardless of anything, we will work for peace. The road to peace is not easy, but Ukraine has always been and remains committed to peace efforts,” Yermak emphasized, assuring that Wednesday’s discussions were focused on “means to achieve a complete and unconditional ceasefire.”
The United States has made its “final offer” to Ukraine to end the war with Russia, a plan in which Crimea would be officially recognized, including by the American government, as part of Russia, while the other occupied Ukrainian territories would remain de facto Russian, Axios reports. According to the source, the Americans are waiting for Ukraine’s response to this proposal on Wednesday, which represents, in fact, a recognition of Russia’s territorial annexation.
